Description
A bold and impressive French writing desk, or table, in the Empire style and off generous proportions. Very well constructed in solid mahogany with attractive mahogany veneers. The top is fitted with its original sumptuous green leather writing surface and surrounded with a brass molding. With a series of one long drawer, flanked by 2 pairs of shorter drawers (all lockable, keys supplied). Standing on fluted tapering legs. To the front the monopodia supports are fitted with crisply cast gilt metal busts and terminating in stylised feet. Decorated with ormolu mounts throughout and finished to the rear so that this desk could be free-standing within a room if so desired. Offered for sale in excellent condition, ready to go straight into the home or office.Dimensions:
