Description
A superb French vitrine of the highest quality. In the Louis XVI style and of the finest construction with stunning kingwood veneers onto a solid oak carcas. Of elegant bombe form and decorated with charming parquetry work inlaid panels. Further embellished with crisply cast gilt bronze mounts throughout. The mounts are stamped "E M" to their backs. This is the mark of the bronzier Maison Mottheau & Fils of Paris. Perhaps best known for the "torchere lumineuse" exhibited at the 1900 Paris Exposition Universelle. The door is lockable (key supplied) and opens to access a shelved and silk lined interior. Repolished, refinished and re-lined in our workshops to the highest of standards.
